KyungChul Shin︎︎︎ (b.1978; Daegu, Korea) received his BFA from Daegu University, Daegu, Korea. Solo exhibitions of his work have been held at Leeahn Gallery, Seoul, Korea (2018); Wumin Art Center, Cheongju, Korea (2018); Daegu Arts Center; Daegu, Korea (2016); Daegu Art Factory, Daegu, Korea (2013); Space Gachang, Daegu, Korea (2012); Bongsan Cultural Center, Daegu, Korea (2010); Space 129, Daegu, Korea (2006); and Cube C, Daegu, Korea (2004). Meeyoung Kim︎︎︎ (b. 1984) has a Master of Arts in Painting from the Royal College of Art, London, as well as both a Master of Fine Arts and a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Korean Painting from Ewha Woman's University in Seoul. Her distinguished solo shows are Both Sides Now at Gallery Baton in Seoul (2015) and Portes Ouvertes at Cité des Arts in Paris (2013). She has participated in group exhibits such as Rules at One and J. Gallery in Seoul (2016) and the Summer Exhibition at the Royal Academy of Arts in London (2014). Kim has also garnered many awards, including the Paris Studio Prize from the Royal College of Art in 2013 and a residence at Kunst Doc Leipzig in 2011.
Mikyung Kim︎︎︎ ( b.1964, Seoul, South Korea) received her MFA in Fine Art and AS in Graphic Design from Parsons School of Design, New York, NY and BA in English Literature from Sungkyunkwan University, Seoul, Korea. Her solo and two-person exhibitions have been held at Leeahn Gallery, Daegu, Korea; Datz Press, Seoul, Korea; Gallery 254, Seoul, Korea; Nook Gallery, Seoul, Korea; Gallery b’ONE, Seoul, Korea; Gallery White Birch, Seoul; Alter Ego, Seoul, Korea; Pleiades Gallery, New York, NY; and Amos Eno Gallery, New York, NY. Park Young Ha︎︎︎ (b. 1954, Seoul, South Korea) is a distinguished Korean painter who has both BFA and MFA degrees from Hong-Ik University, where he subsequently held a professorship. Renowned for his abstract creations, he has garnered several accolades, including the Grand Prize at the Grand Art Exhibition of Korea (1988) and the title of Artist of the Year from the Artist Critics Association, Korea (1991). Park has conducted solo exhibits globally, from Seoul to Sydney, and has participated in prominent art fairs like as KIAF and the Shanghai Art Fair. His work of art is included in the collections of the National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art (Korea) and the National Gallery of Australia.
Candice Joo︎︎︎ (b. 1983; Arlington, Virginia) creates paintings and sculptures of chains to explore notions of individuality, collectivity, and the potential powers in each. Joo’s tensely arranged yet tightly interconnected landscapes of chains are where she reimagines ideas of the empowered self and of collective power. Joo received her BFA from the Parsons School of Design in New York City. Select solo exhibitions have been held at Cheongdam Gallery and Punto Blu in Seoul, Korea. Joo’s work has been featured in group shows at Space Sieon in Jeonju, Korea and Jang Cheon Gallery in Seoul, Korea.
Minku Kim︎︎︎ (b. 1989, Seoul, Korea) is a painter who lives and works in New York City. He was recently the subject of a solo exhibition, ‘Foundation’ at Alexander Berggruen Gallery in Upper East Side, New York, and ’Straight Edge Painting’ at Helen J Gallery in Hollywood, CA. His solo shows include exhibitions at Berggruen Gallery, San Francisco, CA and his paintings have been exhibited in international art fairs such as Art Basel Miami, Park Avenue Armory in New York, and FOG Art and Design in San Francisco, Dallas Art Fair in Texas. Kim’s work has been collected by numerous prestigious private collections in New York, San Francisco, London, Amsterdam, Brussel, and around the world. Currently, Kim is working on his first publication of ‘Straight Edge Paintings (2016-2020)’ He earned his MFA in Sculpture from New York Studio School in 2017 and BFA in Painting from Maryland Institute College of Art in 2012. He attended the Cooper Union Outreach Program, the Marie Walsh Sharpe Summer Seminar, and the New York School of Drawing, Painting, and Sculpture.
Han Sungwoo︎︎︎ (b. 1984, Seoul, Sout Korea) received his MFA in Painting from Korea National University of Arts, Seoul, Korea and BFA from Korea University, Seoul Korea. Hyemin Lee︎︎︎ earned her BA after studying sculpture at Seoul National University and MA in Video Art at New York University. She has held solo shows in several galleries across various locations, including Seoul and New York. Additionally, she took part in group exhibitions at the Art Basel Hong Kong (2016), Jeonbuk Province Art Museum (2016), Busan Art Fair (2016), KIAF in Seoul (2016), and more.
Helen J Gallery is a contemporary art gallery based in Los Angeles.
