Ai Jing

Ai Jing (b. 1969) is a Chinese contemporary artist, native of Shenyang, Liaoning Province. Her artistic career began in 1999 and brought her to New York's thriving contemporary art scene. Her first solo exhibition, "ALL ABOUT LOVE," captivated the halls of Beijing's Today Art Museum in 2008. The following year, "AI WANT TO LOVE" took place in New York. Notably, in the 2010 "Transforming History" show, her piece "The Tree of Life" took center stage. She made history in 2012 when she was the first modern artist to have a solo show in the National Museum of China. In 2014, she had another ground-breaking show at the China Art Museum. Ai Jing's involvement in international shows, including the "Echo of Civilization" in Beijing and the "Metamorphosis" in Belgium, enhanced her standing as a remarkable modern artist. She was honored with the esteemed "Global Top 32 Female Artists" title in 2017 by the American Hirshhorn Museum. She has also collaborated with prestigious publishing houses to publish a number of essay collections and collections of works, adding to the conversation about art and culture.

Jing’s works of art demonstrate her artistic abilities and distinct viewpoints on emotions, life, and the natural world. From color block canvas to experimenting with a wide variety of mixed media, her versatility and creativity are evident in each piece. Jing invites viewers to immerse themselves in her evocative compositions and experience the world through her own viewpoint as she explores emotion and nature beyond conventional bounds.
